The Red Sox finally completed a trade for Adrian Gonzales. In a deal that has been foretold for more than a year the Red Sox sent three top prospects to Boston for the slugging first basemen.
It seems a perfect fit. A left handed power hitter that goes to the opposite field with power Fenway should be made for him. Now in a lineup where he cannot be pitched around easily one wonders what kind of numbers he will put up in Boston. The Red Sox have not announced an extension of his contract but we must assume it is a deal that is foregone, the Sox would not move three prospects for a one year rental.
Gonzales will be the cornerstone of this franchise for years to come.
